Overview
On April 6, 2021, Moberly School District patrons approved a $17,000,000 ballot issue. We are grateful for this tremendous show of support and trust. Since the election, our staff, our architects, and the Board have been busy creating and updating a timeline for getting these projects underway. You may recall this ballot initiative focused on the following areas of need:- Early Childhood Learning Center Classroom Expansion
- New Alternative Education Building
- Moberly High School Multi-Purpose Building Addition
This website provides a transparent and accountable timeline for these funds by offering updates on campus projects. Some work will occur “behind the scenes” with no disruption to the school day. Others will be done during the summer to minimize the impact on teachers, students, and parents. A few projects may impact traffic patterns in and around the school at times. We will provide updates on effective campuses as needed.
The Moberly School District will make every effort to adhere to this schedule; however, please be aware that inclement weather, material supply issues, and/or vendor issues could result in delays.

Early Childhood Learning Center Classroom Expansion
The expansion to the existing ECLC is planned to include new classrooms as well as space for the program to grow and increase student capacity with more schedule options. The expansion includes:
- Three additional classrooms
- Large multipurpose space
- Full-service kitchen
- New restrooms and storage
- Renovations of the existing building to include additional classroom

New Alternative Education Building
The new facility will include a stand-alone space for alternative education serving students in grades kindergarten through 12. The building will be located near the Moberly Area Technical Center and High School but will have its own driveway access and parking lot.
The new facility will include:
- 12 additional classrooms
- Cafeteria/Gym
- Full-service kitchen
- Counselor support spaces
- Proximity to middle school, MATC, and high school buildings

Moberly High School Multi-Purpose Building Addition
This enhancement to the high school is still in the planning phase. Members of the school district leadership, athletics, and staff have been working with the design team on options for this expansion and the components to be included.
Possible options for the new space include:
- Indoor multi-purpose space for JROTC, sports, and community use
- Sports courts, bleachers, and field markings for athletic competitions and events
- Flexible arrangements for many group uses by school or community
January 2023 Update!
Five concepts were presented to the Board for the MHS Fieldhouse addition.The board introduced and discussed paying for part of the MHS Fieldhouse construction with a lease-purchase agreement; no decisions were made. They will continue to evaluate this option moving forward.
The district facilities committee will also review concept options. We will keep the staff updated on any progress.
