The Moberly Board of Education has selected the next superintendent of schools. During a meeting held on Wednesday January 29, the board voted 7-0 to employ Dr. Timothy J. Roling as superintendent, effective July 1, 2020. Dr. Roling is currently serving as superintendent for the Cole Camp R-I School District.

Prior to becoming superintendent at Cole Camp, Dr. Roling served the Moberly School District from 2003–2015. He was employed for ten years as assistant superintendent for human resources and student services and also served as director of special education and middle school assistant principal.

He has worked in education since 1997. Dr. Roling earned his Bachelor of Science in Special Education from the University of Missouri, his Master of Education Administration from William Woods University, his Specialist of Education Administration from University of Central Missouri and his Executive Doctor of Education from Saint Louis University.

“I believe the most important job we have as school board members is to hire the superintendent of our school district,” says Amy Hager, vice-president of the Moberly Board of Education. “The Moberly School District Board of Education did its due diligence and conducted a thorough search to select our next leader. After interviewing several excellent candidates, we selected Dr. Timothy Roling. We are confident in his vision and passion for student success and promoting a positive school culture for our students, teachers, staff, and all community stakeholders. I am so proud of the accomplishments our district has made under the leadership of Dr. Miller, and I am excited about Dr. Roling’s return to Moberly and believe he will bring his own touch to take us to the next level.”

“The Moberly Board of Education expressed a commitment to conduct a collaborative superintendent search process,” said Bobby Riley, president of the Moberly Board of Education. “This process included an online community survey and specific input from stakeholder groups to aid in the selection. The Board narrowed an extensive field of applicants and chose to interview five sitting superintendents. We are pleased that Dr. Roling has accepted the position as Moberly's next superintendent.”

“My wife and I are very excited to be a part of the Moberly community again. I am looking forward to working with the board, administration, faculty, and staff to continue the great work happening in the Moberly School District,” said Dr. Roling.

Please join us in welcoming Dr. Roling and his wife, Francine, back to the Moberly community and congratulating him on his new position as superintendent of schools.
