Often times, coaches get discounted for their jobs because other teachers see it as easier. However, Coach McDowell takes a road that holds kids accountable and pushes them to be stronger physically, mentally, and socially. In his classrooms, he is giving constant feedback and praise. He is not afraid to have an honest conversation with a student or call a parent when he is worried about a student's demeanor. All this while also being the head football coach and running summer weights! He is at the school quite literally all the time -- almost year-round. Our kids are better for having Coach McDowell as their teacher and coach!
