Moberly, MO – May 2, 2024 – Moberly School District is thrilled to announce the appointment of Mr. Tony Vestal as the new Activities Director, effective July 1, 2024. Mr. Vestal has worked in the Moberly School District for 17 years. He coordinated out of school suspension (OSS) for two years, taught at North Central Regional School (NCRS) for seven years, and has been a member of the high school staff for eight years. Mr. Vestal has coached Girls Basketball, Girls Softball, and Varsity Baseball. As Assistant Coach, Mr. Vestal has worked with athletes in baseball, boys’ basketball, and middle school football. With this depth of experience and a master’s degree in Athletics Administration, Mr. Vestal hopes to enrich the extra-curricular and co-curricular landscapes of our district.
In this pivotal role, Mr. Vestal will oversee and coordinate a diverse range of activities and programs aimed at fostering student engagement, personal development, and community involvement. Mr. Vestal will create opportunities for our students to excel beyond the classroom.
“Mr. Vestal is uniquely matched to this position both for his professional credentials and his outstanding character,” said Superintendent Cristina Wright. “We gathered input from our coaches and activity sponsors, and hiring a director who is familiar with our team of employees and Spartan traditions was integral to this selection process.”
Mr. Tony Vestal expressed his feelings about taking on this new level of responsibility. “I am super excited and honored to take over as Moberly Activities Director. Ours is a school district that I care so much about, and I want to see our students do well no matter the sport or activity. It is a great time to be a Spartan as so many of our programs are succeeding and reaching new heights. We have great coaches who care about our students, and we are proud to have students who are coachable.”
Mr. Vestal is married to Mrs. Christine Vestal who has worked for Moberly School District for 21 years. Together they have two girls, Kennedy (age 10) and Reese (age 8).
