MOBERLY, MO – Mr. Travis Mundahl has been named the new Assistant Activities Director for the Moberly School District, as approved by the Board of Education on Tuesday, May 21.
"Travis will be a tremendous addition to Spartan athletics and activities," Mr. Tony Vestal, incoming Director of Activities, said. "He brings great experience as an athletic director, and he has coached at many levels. His commitment to promoting student accomplishments was very evident throughout the interview process, and he will be key to our continued success,” added Vestal.
In this role, Mundahl will be responsible for assisting the activities director in day-to-day operations, and he will assist with supervision and class coverage at Moberly High School. Mr. Mundahl will help prepare facilities for community events, performances, and athletic events, as well as provide assistance with MSHSAA reporting and documentation.
"My family and I are excited to join the Spartan team. I have the utmost respect for Coach Vestal and have known him for many years through the coaching world. I am eager to get to work, carrying out his vision for Moberly Activities and getting to know everyone in the community,” said Mundahl.
Mundahl comes to Moberly after spending the last year in the role of K-12 principal in Atlanta School District in Missouri. Prior to that, Mr. Mundahl worked for Macon School District as an Elementary PE Teacher. After five years, he transitioned to high school weight training, finally spending three years as the Athletic Director in Macon. During that time, he coached football, basketball, and baseball at the varsity level.
Mr. Mundahl and his wife, Kortney, are proud parents of two boys, Torii (4) and Tate (2). In their spare time, they enjoy visiting with family and friends and spending time outdoors. Hunting, fishing, and playing golf are some of their favorite activities.
